The job:

As a member of the data department, you work in a startup environment in the heart of Paris, with a talented and motivated team that use agile development methods.

As a high-level and versatile scientist, you embrace a broad range of subjects and technologies. You can translate a business problem into a mathematical one. You search the literature for the best approach to solve a problem, and you focus innovation on the brick that is going to make a difference. You like to share your knowledge and you are always excited to learn something new.

As a rigorous developer, you can implement your ideas with the appropriate language and framework in an agile environment. You know what testing means, and you know how to use versioning software like Git.

As a humble and pragmatic visionary, you are often right and you stand by your ideas. Analytically minded, you can make your point based on facts and communicate clearly. However, you can fully commit to the project even if your approach is not chosen.

As a responsible leader, you have the full ownership of your contributions, from the proof of concept to production. You behave on the behalf of the company, beyond your own team. You support your collaborators, in success and failure.

You will be responsible for the development of state-of-the-art machine learning and optimization applications (Deep learning, reinforcement models, xgboost, etc) to infer users' characteristics and behavior from a wide range of data types. You will explore very large datasets (more than 1TB) of logs stored in S3 or Redshift with Spark, R, and Python. You will build the data pipelines that will enrich the data warehouse with the output of your models.

In particular, you will work on a very innovative application to reconstruct web browsing and application usage history from low-level signals collected on mobiles and tablets, such as network and CPU activity.
